Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy explores the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and the behaviors that follow. Through CBT, people learn that their thoughts directly influence how they respond to specific situations. CBT is based on the belief that how a person perceives events determines how they will act; it is not the events themselves that determine a person’s actions or feelings. As therapists who use CBT, we believe that our clients can adjust their thoughts and thereby directly influence their emotions and behaviors. These adjustments will lead to a reduction in anxiety, depression, anger, chronic stress, and more.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is intended to treat Borderline Personality Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, however DBT skills will benefit people of all ages to navigate through relationships, life challenges and family dynamics. DBT includes the components of Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Emotional Regulation. DBT helps a person identify what their personal strengths are and builds them up so that their self-esteem and self-image improves. Patients get help identifying thoughts and beliefs that make their life harder.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. Trauma isn’t about the event. It’s about the beliefs created from the event. We may create false beliefs such as “I’m unlovable,” “I brought this on myself,” “I’m not good enough,” or “Something is wrong with me.” These false beliefs become our core beliefs. EMDR is about changing these beliefs permanently and healing from these experiences.
Play Therapy
Play therapy uses play as a child’s language. Through play therapy, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others. Play provides a safe distance from their problems and allows expression of thoughts and feelings appropriate to their development. Play therapy works best when a safe relationship is created between the therapist and client, one in which the child may freely and naturally express thoughts and feelings. Evidence shows play therapy is effective as a primary intervention for a variety of mental health needs, including: behavioral problems, anger management, grief and loss, divorce, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social development, and autism.
The No Surprises Act provides patients with protection from surprise medical bills under certain circumstances. It also mandates transparency regarding healthcare costs and holds patients liable for in-network cost-sharing amounts only.
